“everybody dresses like a pirate and your goal is to collect beads”

the Knight Parade, part of the Gasparilla Festival in Tampa, Florida.

there were pirates on the dock, pirates in the hotel lobby, pirates on the trolley car and then a cordoned off street jammed with pirates on pirate floats. and the pirates were throwing beads a la Mardi Gras. the goal: collect beads.

what could be better than pirates and beads? (with a wee drop of rum to flavour the mixture!) it’s mighty thirsty yelling for beads….
