So what’s a crafty girl to do when she’s not in her studio? Basket weaving!

Step 1. Grow a pine tree.
Here is an interesting factoid I learnt, the colder the climate the shorter the pine needles on a tree.

Step 2. Collect a large bag of pine needles. If you harvest them from the tree they will need to dry out for 6 – 8 weeks. Or just pick up the fallen needles, much easier.

Step 3. Weave your basket.
Too many steps to list here. And it’s not fast. This is my first basket, it’s not quite finished, I ran out of needles.
