Sometimes a goal seem so immense, so ridiculous, so overwhelming that you give up before you even begin. A while ago I realized that I wasn’t feeling quite my energetic rah-rah self. I didn’t have quite the same energy. I needed to get back into shape. I wanted to start running. At the time it was winter here in Canada and running outside, while it can be done, isn’t for me. I hit the treadmill at the local gym. Talk about boring! So I gave myself a goal.
I am running virtually across France.
I log every run. At the end of every week I use Google Earth and plot my course. I check out some photos of where I’ve been. This month I decided that every run I will learn one new word in French. And I put this up on the internet to keep my accountable. Whether or not anyone ever reads this is irrelevant.
I began in Calais and I will finish in Marseilles. I may fall off the wagon, I forgot to blog for a long time, whatever. The point is that slowly, one foot in front of the other, I will complete a ridiculously huge goal.
Today was a milestone, I hit the 500 km mark!!!
One foot in front of the other.
Oh, that’s such a wonderful idea! Good luck in your ‘journey’
it keeps me amused as i pound the treadmill. one of these days i will run through the real streets of paris. unless i get sidetracked by a cafe.
