my summer show season is almost here and now begins the staring at the sky. you know, i spend my life staring at the sky watching weather. i obsess over radar maps and forecasts. i sniff the air and feel the slightest wind shift. the long range weather forecast shows the weather for the next 10 days so i begin 10 days before every show, checking daily, twice daily, hourly, watching to see if i’m going to get pasted in the booth. then there’s the decision on what to wear. when you’re standing outside for up to 12 hours it’s very different than wandering around for an afternoon. and of course i need to know the weather for the 2 nights a week of sailing. how many layers of fleece? rain pants? gloves? red wine or white wine?

do me a favour mother nature, go easy this year.
