trying to get round beads to stay put in just the right position to get a shot is like herding cats. and finding a prop where they’ll stay put is hard, it has to be a solid colour and hold the round thing. so i was trying to get this little silver necklace (called the Ball of Yarn) to stay put on the glass shelf in the photo cube and it was all over the place. suddenly a light bulb clicked on, why not use a ball of yarn? and BINGO! it’s perfect! soft, squishy, holds the piece and provides just the right amount of colour. since i have oodles of yarn (yes, bad yarn shopping habit) from now on all round things will be shot on yarn. it’s just a matter of finding the right colour… and if i don’t have it in my stash then i can justify buying more yarn!
