HOME - the galley - creative with cabbage

Ah the humble cabbage. It keeps for weeks on end unlike a lettuce which will wilt before you get it home from the market. To make a cabbage go further, never slice it, peel off the leaves and slice them. When kept in a cool dark spot, a cabbage will last for weeks. This means that in those weeks in between ports and markets, a sailor is often faced with another night of "what's for dinner? Oh........cabbage......." But hey, let's get creative with cabbage!
