Bimini is just 55 miles east of Miami, but mon, it be a different world. Alice Town has 2 roads on an island and you can cover it on foot in 10 minutes. Hemingway spent time here as the deep sea fishing is fabulous. About a mile west of Bimini, the bottom rises up from 3000 feet to 50 feet. That’s where the big fish hang out. It’s also where big boats run into trouble in storms, if you don’t follow your charts closely, you get blown up onto the shelf.
